A whisky series about New Year’s celebrations needs a fitting last stop. New Orleans supplies the setting for The Macallan’s A Night on Earth, The Finale, the fifth and final expression in the collection.

The single malt matures in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, using their different contributions to balance sweetness and warming spice. Macallan describes citrus, creamy sweetness, and warming spice. Its connection to the city is interpretive: New Orleans’ food, cocktails, and music provide the creative direction, rather than an unusual ingredient added to the spirit.
That approach extends to the package. New Orleans-born artist Hill Spriggins created three works for its different layers, moving between the city’s lively streets, jazz clubs, and quieter moments around dawn. A textured outer surface recalls canvas, giving the artwork a tactile counterpart instead of treating it as a label pasted onto a standard box.
The A Night on Earth collection has used different destinations to explore a shared ritual of gathering and reflection. Here, sherry-seasoned oak and the layered presentation carry that idea together.
The Finale is rolling out globally through The Macallan, its Estate Boutique, and selected retailers. It closes the collection with a distinct place and artist, keeping the whisky’s maturation at the center of the story.
