Harley-Davidson motorcycles have unveiled a new model for its electric motorcycles called the LiveWire S2 Del Mar Launch Edition. This new electric bike is lighter and more affordable than the current LiveWire ONE motorcycle. This is also the first Harley-Davidson LiveWire bike built on the new “ARROW” architecture, a modular design that can be scaled and adapted to future models.
The LiveWire S2 Del Mar is reported to produce 80-hp from its 59.6-kW battery pack. Its curb weight is kept low at 440-pounds and offers a range of 100-miles in the city. Moreover, the S2 Del Mar is relatively lightweight and its power ratio results in a zero to 60 time of 3.5-seconds. The bike rolls on 19-inch wheels wrapped in Dunlop DT1 tires developed exclusively for the LiveWire S2 Del Mar. Its dimensions cater to an urban adventure bike with high-set handlebars, a slim seat, and a short tail section promoting an upright position for the rider.
The first 100 LiveWire S2 Del Mar examples are serialized as Launch Edition models in celebration of its release. These bikes will feature exclusive color schemes and special-edition wheels. According to Harley-Davidson, orders for the 100 Launch Edition S2 Del Mar motorcycles sold out in under 20 minutes. However, those looking to order a standard LiveWire S2 Del Mar can expect to see them at dealerships by spring 2023.
