Lamborghini has unveiled the 2021 Lamborghini Sian Roadster its first open-top hybrid supercar featuring a supercapacitor. What’s a supercapacitor? In simple terms it is a device that stores electrical energy, like a battery but better in a supercar way. According to Lamborghini, this supercapacitor can store ten times more power than a lithium ion-battery. More power means more range and more performance.
The 2021 Lamborghini Sian Roadster is a limited edition hybrid supercar with only 19 examples set for production. The Sian Roadster is powered by a hybrid drive-train featuring a naturally aspirated 774 horsepower V12 engine powering an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system with a rear mechanical self-locking differential. All this means is the Sian Roadster can snap zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds and torque-rocket itself to a top speed of 217 mph. Best of all the Lamborghini Sian Roadster looks like a street jet-fighter. Press photos show the Sian finished in a bright teal with gold wheels and white interior. The Sian is a proper Lamborghini super car that could potentially be introducing the next trend in electric vehicle technology.
