When the call for help from Batman appeared in the sky, there was only one car that Bruce Wayne trusted. He’d leap into the Batmobile and speed off to answer the call. Kross Studio has released the 1989 Batmobile, a clever Swiss-crafted tabletop mechanical clock. A finely tuned piece of machinery, the clock consists of 512 components — 115 for the bodywork and 397 for the movement– compared to a traditional mechanical movement that usually has around 130 parts. Hours and minutes are displayed horizontally by two cylinders, while a vertical regulator is highlighted through the turbine at the front of the car.
Reproducing the classic curves and proportions of the 1989 Batmobile, the bodywork is made up of black aluminum composite, with aeronautical grade scratch protection coating. Each detail is attended to with a meticulousness that Alfred himself would be proud of. Kross Studio is limiting production to only 100 pieces, so since you can’t have the Caped Crusader’s Batmobile itself, this may well be the next best thing.
