Hublot has spent decades making hard materials look improbable; its latest Big Bang makes softness the engineering problem. The Big Bang Original Soft Touch uses a textured rubber compound across the case, bezel, dial, and strap, creating a velvet-like surface without relying on a conventional coating.
The 43mm titanium case is overmolded with rubber whose microscopic texture is formed directly during production. Hublot offers the watch in All Black and All Red, connecting the treatment to two established color signatures rather than treating it as a decorative one-off.
The matching rubber dial uses a carbon-pattern surface with raised counters, while the crown and pushers continue the material theme. Water resistance remains 100 meters, and the One Click system allows the integrated rubber strap to be changed without tools.
Underneath the unusual skin is familiar Big Bang hardware. The in-house HUB1280 Unico is an automatic flyback chronograph with a column wheel and approximately 72 hours of power reserve. That makes the tactile construction the real difference: unlike a new colorway, the overmolding changes how the watch is physically built and handled. Hublot’s All Red product page specifies titanium beneath the molded rubber and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.
Both Big Bang Original Soft Touch versions are available now through selected Hublot retailers and online, priced at $24,900.
