Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog has moved from monumental sculpture to the wrist. The Hublot Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons rebuilds the 42mm Classic Fusion around the artist’s inflated visual language rather than simply placing his artwork on a conventional dial.
Three versions are offered: mirror-polished stainless steel, red anodized aluminum, and blue anodized aluminum. The rounded case, bezel, crown, and even the oscillating weight are shaped to suggest inflated surfaces, while the crown itself resembles a balloon valve.
A flexible decorative tail projects from the case at 10:30, and the seconds hand carries a small Balloon Dog counterweight. Three-dimensional Super-LumiNova on the hands and indexes keeps the sculptural treatment legible after dark.
The collaboration sits comfortably alongside Hublot’s history of artist-driven watches, including its Daniel Arsham projects, but Koons’ contribution is unusually structural. The recognizable Classic Fusion architecture has been softened and expanded until the watch itself echoes the visual tension of an inflated object rendered in permanent material.
Each color is limited to 200 pieces. Hublot lists the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog at $25,100 in the U.S., with availability through selected Hublot points of sale.
