If you’re going to spend more than $1,000 for a motorcycle helmet then it’d better be a thing of beauty. Luckily the Hedon Vitesse Heroine Racer Helmet possesses all the bells and whistles to stand up to its price.
This helmet is the result of a much anticipated second collaboration with Paris’s 4H10. The pair’s first project, the Hedonist 1971, was so successful that it’s still in demand. Yet the Vitesse Heroine Racer Helmet differs from the Hedonist with its racer visors, which can be selected from a collection of 6 colors — clear, coffee haze, red smoke, deep smoke, sunset, and amber.
Only 100 helmets will be made, with the distinctive composite fiber shell made from fiberglass and carbon fiber. Its retro 1970s look was designed by 4H10 in a perfect high gloss finish. The helmet also makes ample use of natural calf leather trim and lining and premium brass hardware including a brass DD buckle and brass Hedon plate.
The helmet’s ultralight and low profile shell conceals Hed Armor lining with 360″ cushion padding. Merlin anti-bacterial fabric and a clear anti-fog double lens add to safety and security. The Vitesse Heroine Racer still features the superior soundproofing of the Hedonist along with a three channels ventilation system.
