When the Polaroid Cube was first released, it had a clear message – that portability should be a must-have for an adventure cam. There’s really no flaw in that logic, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of better quality images/videos.
With that in mind, GoPro, the king of the US video-camera market, has returned with the HERO4 Session, a mini-camera very reminiscent of the Polaroid Cube in terms of size and design. Despite its miniscule proportions, the GoPro HERO4 Session manages to pack a decent punch for its size as it can shoot a 1440p video at 30 frames per second, 1080p up to 60 frames per second, and 720p up to 100 frames per second. Battery life is respectable at approximately 2 hours, and it is waterproof (up to 10 meters) straight out of the box so there’s no need to buy any separate waterproof casings for your paddling and swimming experience.
At 2.6 ounces (approximately 0.07 kg), the HERO4 is so light that you won’t even notice the weight on top of your helmet. Just don’t forget to turn off your camera when you’re visiting the restroom, unless you’re one of those types who are eager to capture every moment of their potty adventures.
