Ever since Deadpool’s first unfortunate cinematic outing in X-Men Origins: Wolverine from 2009, actor Ryan Reynolds seems to have mixed emotions about the titular character from the successful X-Men franchise and the Australian actor that plays the adamantium-claw-weidling mutant.
The first Deadpool movie, which was a surprise hit for Fox and paved a new path for profanity and gore-laden R-rated superhero movies, took subtle and not-so-subtle stabs at Hugh Jackman and Wolverine throughout the film. Not only was Deadpool a highly entertaining film, it also did justice by the wise-cracking Merc With A Mouth — an enviable feat considering the damage that X-Men Origins: Wolverine had done to the character.
Despite the ambiguous dynamic between the two comic book characters, and the real-life counterparts that played those characters, many fans have been hoping for a crossover bringing the two back onto the silver screen. Although the crossover between Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine may never happen anytime in the near future, given that the Aussie actor has decided to give up his mantle, we did get a small “surprise” that was added to the beginning of Logan. For those of you that weren’t fortunate enough to see the “surprise” in theaters, here’s the teaser for the upcoming Deadpool 2 that you’ve missed.
