Marvel and Disney have finally released the official trailer for the highly anticipated next chapter of the Avengers film franchise. As expected, the film will serve as the capstone of the first series of films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and conclude the Thanos saga.
Although the trailer doesn’t reveal much in terms of plot line or details, it does show a devastatingly bleak world in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Thanos’ finger snap. The remaining survivors, including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor, can all be seen grasping with their grim reality. A surprise reveal in the trailer is a darker, grittier version of Hawkeye, who was notably absent from the previous film.
Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: End Game will serve as a climactic finale to the 11 year-old franchise, marking an end to some flagship actors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and opening up new stories for the next chapter of Marvel films.
Initially slated to release on May 3, 2019, Avengers: End Game will hit theaters a bit sooner on April 26, 2019.
