Cadillac has revealed its first electric luxury crossover SUV, called the Lyriq, which is set to hit the market in 2022. The model shown is still a concept, but Cadillac says the production model will look mostly like what we have seen. The Lyriq dimensions are estimated to be similar in size to the Cadillac XT5. Powering the Cadillac Lyriq will be the all-new Ultium electric drive system offering a claim of over 300-miles of range from its 100 kWh battery. This luxury EV will be compatible with 150 kW DC fast-chargers and Level 2 charging rate of up to 19 kW and will have the option to be a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle.
The interior features an impressive 33-inch LED single-piece display placed horizontally across the Lyriq dashboard. This screen will work as the central hub for infotainment controls, camera views, and driver details. Cadillac claims this screen features over a billion colors making it the highest pixel density in the automotive industry. Amongst a list of advanced technology, Cadillac’s Super Cruise is standard on the Lyriq and is the first truly hands-free driver assistance system (no matter what Tesla says). For additional luxury, the Lyriq will introduce new road-noise cancellation technology to provide a peaceful riding experience.
