The Barq Rena Max is an electric delivery scooter designed by Callum. If the name rings a bell, that’s because Callum is founded by Ian Callum, known for its automotive design work with Ford and Aston Martin. However, the Rena Max is far from an Aston Martin and is the first vehicle debut for Barq. It’s an electric delivery scooter designed and engineered for “last mile” deliveries in the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) markets.

The Barq electric scooter is powered by a swappable 5.6-kWh lithium-ion battery with a 7-kW electric motor. Its powertrain provides riders with up to 93 miles of range and a top speed of 60 mph. The Rena Max rolls on tubeless tires with 13-in wheels at the front and 14-inch at the back to cut down on tire punchers.

Moreover, the Braq Rena Max offers several useful features to get the job done safely. For starters, the scooter features three storage compartments with electronically controlled locking. The largest one offers 79-liters of space at the rear, fitted with a Givi mounting system. The compartment has adjustable shelving or is fitted with food-safe lining with passive insulation. A cooling box offers 9-liters of storage, and there is a 5-liter storage area at the front of the scooter. In addition, riders can manage the Rena Max’s various drive modes (Eco, City, Sport), including a reverse gear, using an eight-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 touchscreen display.  Pricing and availability details on the Barq Rena Max scooter are slim at the moment. However, Ian Callum stated that production will start in late 2022 with a goal of 50,000 units in the region by 2025.
