We saw the announced release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series at yesterday’s ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event. The new Galaxy Tab S8 will come in three sizes. The Tab S8 Ultra is the flagship, featuring a massive 14.6-inch screen that looks practically laptop-size with its keyboard. The Tab S8+ features a more manageable 12.4-inch screen. The smallest option is the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S8 model. All three devices pack Super AMOLED screens with 120Hz refresh rate support. The two larger models come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the smaller model has the sensor built into the Side Key. All three of the tablets have small symmetrical bezels, but the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the only one that has a notch at the top.

Samsung has added the fastest processor ever used in a Galaxy Tab for this new series – a 4nm chip. The Tab S8 and S8+ also provide ample RAM and storage for any task. If users need more, the Tab S8 Ultra packs in up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, and all three models offer expandable storage by up to 1TB with an optional microSD card. The Tab S8 series is also the first Samsung tablet to support Wi-Fi 6E which, according to Samsung, “Provides up to double the bandwidth and maximum speed of Wi-Fi 6, and with optimized network quality you don’t have to stress about weak connections. Alternatively, share content in a flash with hyperfast and secure Galaxy 5G — whether it’s for dialing into class remotely or clearing out your inbox while commuting, optimized network quality can alleviate some of the stress of weak connections.”

The Galaxy Tab S8 series is fueled by an intelligent all-day battery that supports hours of video playback if, say, you’re in the middle of a movie marathon. It supports 45W super-fast charging that can get users back to 100% in 80 minutes. If your other devices need a power boost on the go, simply connect your Galaxy Tab S8 to a Galaxy S22 smartphone with a USB-C cable, and the tablet’s incredible fast-charging battery can double as a portable charger. Like the new Galaxy S22 Smartphone lineup, the Tab S8 models are partially constructed with plastic components that Samsung repurposed from discarded ocean fishing nets.

All three tablets come with their own S Pen. The Tab S8 Ultra comes in bold and timeless Graphite, and the Tab S8 and S8+ come in three sophisticated shades — Graphite, Silver, and Pink Gold. Samsung is also releasing a new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard that takes the Ultra’s functionality even further with wider, backlit keycaps, customizable shortcut settings, and adjustable standing angles. The Book Cover Keyboard features premium, antimicrobial polyurethane leather and a glass-coated touchpad that enables smooth and responsive typing. The Galaxy Tab S8 series is available for preorder now and will ship on February 25th.
