A brighter screen is usually a spec-sheet footnote. On a ridge at noon or below the waterline, it becomes the difference between information and decoration. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 pushes its 1.52-inch display to 5,000 nits and builds the rest of the watch around similarly practical gains.

Samsung keeps the 47mm titanium case but trims the profile by 12 percent. Inside, a five-core Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, 64GB of storage, and an 800mAh battery replace the compromises of the previous generation. The battery is rated for up to 60 hours with the always-on display active, while a full charge takes roughly 90 minutes.

Durability is the larger story. The watch carries 10ATM, IP69K, MIL-STD-810H, and EN13319 ratings, with automatic depth, water-temperature, and dive-time tracking. A forthcoming Mares app will add advanced dive functions later in 2026.

On land, Trail Run mode, dual-frequency GPS, and hydration guidance expand the Galaxy wearable platform without turning the interface into an equipment catalog. Wear OS 7 and One UI 9 keep navigation familiar.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is available to preorder in Titanium Silver and Titanium Gray with general availability on August 7. It is priced at $699.99, placing its new dive and endurance hardware squarely against dedicated outdoor watches rather than ordinary smartwatches.
