Amalgam Collections has just released photos of its latest model project. This new collection of limited-edition models is based on the McLaren MCL35M Formula 1 race car driven by Lando Norris that achieved a podium finish at the 2021 Grand Prix de Monaco. Moreover, this Amalgam McLaren MCL35M car model is offered in two liveries, the Monza podium-winning livery, and the iconic Gulf livery, arguably the most famous racing livery in motorsport history.
To construct these 1:8 and 1:18 models, McLaren supplied Amalgam with CAD data of the Formula 1 car. From this data, Amalgam developed a prototype with each piece crafted using 3D printing technology and then finished by hand. The entire developing process took 2,500 hours to complete and was then approved by McLaren for quality and accuracy. According to Amalgam, these limited-edition models require 250 hours to cast, paint and assemble. This hyper attention to the most delicate details in these car models makes Amalgam Collections a premium brand.
Amalgam is set to release 50 examples of the 1:8 scale McLaren MCL35M in its Monza winning livery, and it measures 28-inches in length. Meanwhile, the Gulf livery 1:18 scale McLaren MCL35M is limited to a production run of 500 examples.
