3sixteen x Blue Owl Lets Lavender Age

Okayama denim, Los Angeles sewing, and Seattle dye work turn color into a material process rather than a surface update.

Purple denim can easily become a novelty. The 3sixteen x Blue Owl Natural Dye Pack gives the idea more substance, using plant-derived dyes and textured Japanese selvedge across a nine-piece collaboration exclusive to Blue Owl.

The collection begins with 3sixteen’s 14-ounce Kibata Series denim, a slub fabric woven slowly under low tension in Okayama, Japan. Each pair is cut and sewn in California, rinsed to remove shrinkage, and then hand-dyed at a Seattle dye house. Madder root produces the red finish, cutch derived from Acacia catechu trees supplies the brown, and logwood creates the lavender. Because the dyes bind differently to the fabric, tonal variation is part of the result rather than a manufacturing flaw.

Each color comes in two straight-leg cuts. The Relaxed Straight jeans have a high rise, roomy thigh, and wide leg, while the Classic Straight version maintains a full thigh before tapering below the knee. Both retain traditional selvedge denim details, including a roughout leather patch, chain-stitched hems, custom hardware, and selvedge finishing at the coin pocket and button fly.

Matching Heavyweight T-shirts complete the release. Each uses 270 GSM combed-cotton jersey with a reinforced triple-stitched collar.

The collection launched July 24 exclusively through Blue Owl. Jeans cost $345, while the T-shirts are $75; availability varies by color, fit, and size.
