The 2024 Porsche 911 S/T is the latest special edition variant of the car in celebration of its 60th anniversary. At its core, the 911 S/T is a GT3 RS with more power, less weight, a manual transmission, and dressed in grand touring aero. It’s not a lap blazer, more of a canyon road cruising missile, and limited to only 1,963 examples.
The heart of the 911 S/T is the 4.0-liter flat-six rear engine tuned to produce 518 horsepower and 342 lb.-ft of torque. Porsche engineers developed a new clutch with a single-mass flywheel exclusively for this limited-edition model. According to Porsche, this new clutch helps reduce the rotating mass of the car by an estimated 23 pounds.
In addition, the S/T manual transmission has a shortened gear ratio compared to the GT3, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. Spec nerds will say that the PDK-equipped GT3 is quicker, but who cares when you’re rowing your own gears?
The 2024 Porsche 911 S/T hood, roof, front fenders, and doors are made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to cut down on its curb weight. In addition to magnesium wheels, lightweight glass, and a lithium-ion starter battery, tipping the scale at just under 3,100 pounds. That makes it 70 pounds lighter than a GT3 Touring with a manual gearbox.
Apart from the rear wing delete, the 911 S/T comes dressed in Shore Blue Metallic exterior paint with Ceramica wheels accented with a gold Porsche logo and 911 S/T designation. Inside, the cloth seats feature Classic Cognac upholstery with black pinstriping, although you have the option of opting for the four-way adjustable Sport Seat Plus at no extra charge. Since production numbers are limited to 1,963 examples in honor of the Porsche 911 first production year, hurry and order before delivery starts in spring 2024.
