Standard Wines come packaged in a bottle shaped like an elegant rendition of the classic chemistry lab beaker. But pop their corks (or rather, unscrew their tops) and you’ll experience something a bit more than scholastic.
Standard has come up with its wines not to reinvent wine drinking, but to raise the bar of expectations on great wines. After witnessing an expanding market with a steadily decreasing level of quality, the brand is on a mission to deliver high-quality, generous, yet simple wines in single-serving sizes, with also an added bit of flair for the millennial set looking to pay homage to the heritage of California winemaking.
The brand simply offers up its wines in two varieties: red and white. The Standard Red uses a blend of Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Zinfandel grapes in a full-bodied glass. Dark red fruits combine with spices and dried violets, with the scent of blackberries and bittersweet chocolate from Sonoma’s most celebrated vineyards. The Standard Chardonnay is an expression of the famous Sonoma vintage with a delicate balance of fruit, acid, and oak. Vibrant green apple punctuates honeysuckle and tart lemon creme, with a touch of tropical fruit and vanilla for a bright beverage.
