The Scottish watchmaker anOrdain is no stranger to painstaking craftsmanship, but its latest release pushes artisanal detail even further. Enter the Model 2 Porcelain—a refined take on its rugged favorite. It now features hand-fired porcelain dials developed over three years in collaboration with master potters from Stoke-on-Trent. Unlike traditional enamel dials requiring one artisan per dial, the new porcelain approach allows anOrdain to produce small batches while preserving character, tactility, and visual depth. Clay sourced from southern England is refined and glazed before being fired up to 1300°C, resulting in dials that glow with subtle individuality and a distinctly analog soul.

The Model 2 Porcelain pairs this artistry with function. Its updated 39.5mm case houses a La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement and showcases new Super–LumiNova–filled numerals and a redesigned handset for low-light visibility. Only 30 of these watches are produced per month, and while originally offered exclusively to waitlist customers, they’re now being opened up to the wider public. As expected, demand will be high.

It’s a watch that wears its heritage with quiet confidence—equal parts Scottish innovation and English ceramic tradition. At $2,537, the anOrdain Model 2 Porcelain isn’t just another field watch. It’s a wearable piece of craftsmanship that celebrates the enduring value of things made slowly, by hand, and with intention.
