Considered a diver’s watch with lofty inclinations of performing admirably both above and below sea level, the Serica 5303 is an eagerly anticipated addition to the Serica brand. This timepiece features a unique bezel, with two separate sections, one black, and one brushed steel. It also includes a 12-hour track, which features a useful dual time zone. Another interesting feature of the Serica 5303 is the S617 label, situated at six o’clock. The S617 stands for the retired French submarine named Le Temeraire or “the brave one,” showcasing the watch’s connection to the below-sea-level sect as well as its commitment to innovative design.

The steel case measures 39mm in diameter and 12.2mm in thickness (including the domed sapphire), with a total lug to lug distance of 46.5mm. The lugs on the timepiece include a bit of a twist, moving away from the classic design. These lugs present a twisted design, featuring a mix of brushed and polished surfaces, which creates an intriguing flourish that calls to mind the beloved Speedmaster. This additional flair helps the watch fit comfortably even out of the water, should the wearer want to go from dive suit to tux like the famous James Bond. Finally, the Serica 5303 finishes off its impressive appearance with a steel mesh bracelet, with solid end links that connect the mesh portions. This design feature allows for more comfortable real-world wear and presents a distinctive look as well. Preorders are now available, with deliveries expected in August.
