Seoul; the capital of South Korea. In 2014, the official population nudged over 10 million, making it one of the most populated cities in the world. There’s a beauty and energy flowing through the heart of Korea that just cannot be explained with words to those unfamiliar with this small country in the Far East. Surprisingly enough, it was three years of dedication and hard work from a young man from Texas that captured the time lapse above to fully appreciate and capture its beauty.
The approximately four minutes long Seoul Time Laps captures the passage of time at some of the most breathtaking locations in the city. The stunning images took quite a bit of hard work; he would take over 400 photos over the course of six hours on average for each scene, and when he wasn’t fully satisfied he repeated the process four to five times. Apparently the whole three-year-long process came at the cost of his social life, but the end result is something that he should be proud of. What is a bit unfortunate is the clichéd music that doesn’t do much to capture the essence of this modern city, but we’ll let that slide.
For those that have been to Seoul, this video will highlight some of the most iconic views that should be familiar to you. For those that haven’t been, this may be a good preview and food for thought on possibly making Seoul your next travel destination.
