When most people think of speakers, they don’t immediately think of “high-end fashion.” However, thanks to the Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up Speaker, people should expand their minds. Over the years, Louis Vuitton has made quite a name for itself by making designer bags, luggage, and shoes.  More recently, the couture brand has been dabbling in some high-tech toys. So, in presenting the Horizon Light Up Speaker, did the brand just slap a label on an existing Bluetooth speaker? No, the company went a lot further. First, the design – this device looks more like a UFO than a tech gadget. It is actually based upon the Maison’s iconic Toupie Handbag, which was inspired by a spinning top. While you won’t spin the Horizon speaker, it does offer omnidirectional sound, which is practically the same thing.

Second, the speaker also delivers a colored light show whenever it is working. The lights surround the subwoofer, giving users a club experience without paying a $50 entry fee. A dynamic light show synchronizes to the beat with a colorful digital interpretation of Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram flower. A top ring with LED backlighting provides three different animations in seven carefully selected, graduated colorways. The concave, steel middle band features the cut-out letters ‘L-O-U-I-S-V-U-I-T-T-O-N’ that glow in colors to match the dancing top ring. With its leather strap, the speaker can easily go with you when you are out and about, or when at home, place the speaker on its dock for sound that is played at 360 degrees. The Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up Speaker will be available for purchase on July 30th.
