Lotus has announced a new division focused on its most ambitious and bespoke projects. This new department is called the Lotus Advanced Performance Division. It will be responsible for overseeing the brand’s “ultra-exclusive and unique vehicles” as well as future limited-edition models. In addition, customers looking to order bespoke options for their Lotus will be managed by the Lotus Advanced Performance Division. In addition to overseeing custom high-performance models, the Advanced Performance Division will host exclusive events. These events range from tours of the Lotus production line and partaking in the Lotus Driving Academy. Moreover, the division will be in charge of delivering lightweight competition models like the Lotus Emira GT4.

The appointed director of the newly formed Lotus Advanced Performance Division is Simon Lane. If you recognize the name, it’s because Simon Lane joins Lotus from the Q by Aston Martin, another bespoke automaker division dedicated to limited-edition models. Lane expressed his enthusiasm for this new division as “a blank sheet of paper and the opportunity to launch a completely new division at the world’s most ambitious car brand.” In addition to the announced launch of its Advanced Performance Division, Lotus released a teaser of a mystery vehicle with a massive rear wing. Lotus is keeping details hush-hush for now but stated that it “hints at an exciting future project.”
