Kaare Klint’s KK47000 Safari Chair is a true testament to the genius of Danish design. Inspired by the chairs used by the British military during their Indian campaigns, Klint’s Safari Chair embodies simplicity, functionality, and elegance. It is a piece of furniture that seamlessly merges form and function.

Originally introduced in 1933 at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition, the Safari Chair is a refined version of the self-assembled chairs that an American cinematographer and his wife brought back from an African safari. Klint, a renowned furniture designer and educator, noticed these chairs in the couple’s photos and set out to create his own interpretation.

Klint’s Safari Chair features glueless joints and tool-free assembly, making it easy to transport and assemble. Its intelligent construction allows the joints to tighten when the chair is occupied, ensuring optimal strength and stability. The chair’s lightweight composition, well-conceived proportions, and remarkable material effects are a testament to Klint’s meticulous craftsmanship and systematic approach.

Today, Klint is hailed as the father of modern Danish design. His influence on future generations of designers and architects is undeniable. From the iconic Faaborg Chair to the design of the Danish Pavilion’s reception room at the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, Klint’s commitment to clear, logical design, clean lines, and superior materials is evident.

The Kaare Klint Safari Chair is available in four variants, each featuring ash legs and arms finished in white oil. The seat and back options include Canvas Natural, Black Leather Thor 307, Burgundy Leather Thor 307, or Brown Leather Thor 307. The armrest is crafted from exquisite saddle leather.
