Pocket gimbal cameras are becoming serious enough that “creator camera” no longer has to mean compromise. The new Insta360 Luna Pro takes the Leica collaboration and 1-inch sensor formula introduced by the pricier Luna Ultra and moves it into a $599.99 package aimed at everyday video work.

A Leica Summicron lens sits in front of a 1-inch sensor capable of 8K video, 10-bit I-Log, and Dolby Vision. Native 4K vertical capture uses 6K oversampling rather than cropping a horizontal frame, while built-in timecode makes the camera easier to fold into multicamera shoots. AI tracking and Insta360’s app-based editing tools handle solo shooting and quick turnaround.

The positioning is what makes the Pro interesting. Insta360’s Luna Ultra pushed the company into a more premium pocket-cinema space earlier this year; Luna Pro keeps the large sensor and Leica optics while simplifying the hardware around them. That gives creators a more direct alternative to phone-plus-gimbal setups without moving into interchangeable-lens territory.
The Luna Series is available in Cosmic Black and Stellar White. Luna Pro launched globally September 10, with the Standard Bundle priced at $599.99 through Insta360 and select retailers.
