A 360 camera is only useful when it can survive the angle nobody planned. The Insta360 X6 combines larger sensors, tougher replaceable lenses, and longer 8K recording in a body designed to spend less time being protected from the action.

Two custom Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors provide 33 percent more imaging area than the X5, feeding a 4nm processor and two dedicated imaging chips. The X6 records 8K 360-degree video at 50 fps and captures 120-megapixel stills.

Its single-lens mode handles conventional flat footage at 5K60 or 4K120, while 5K30 expands the field of view to 170 degrees. It is also the first 360 camera to record native, in-camera Dolby Vision with 10-bit color. A 2.32-inch, 1,200-nit OLED keeps menus and previews legible outdoors.

The practical engineering matters as much as resolution. Its second-generation user-replaceable lenses are five times more scratch-resistant than those on the Insta360 X5, while the IP68-rated body is waterproof to 66 feet without a case. A 2,600mAh battery delivers up to 140 minutes of 8K30 recording, reaches 80 percent charge in 24 minutes, and operates at temperatures down to -4 degrees Fahrenheit. The camera also includes 47GB of usable internal storage.
