A camera built for decisive moments makes a natural partner for motorsport. The Leica Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition brings racing materials and tactile details to Leica’s fixed-lens full-frame camera, with more than a badge to distinguish it from the standard model.

The special edition follows a licensing partnership between Leica and Formula 1. Its black Microvelour body covering takes inspiration from the grip of a racing steering wheel, while genuine carbon-fiber components appear on the wireless-charging-compatible handgrip, thumb rest, and soft-release button.

Red accents on the controls recall the high-visibility cues found in a cockpit. Formula 1 branding appears on the top plate and lens cap, with a matching rope strap included.

Underneath, the camera retains the Q3 43’s 43mm APO-Summicron f/2 fixed lens and full-frame BSI CMOS sensor, which offers 60-, 36-, and 18-megapixel recording modes. A dedicated Formula 1 Leica Look adds stronger contrast and saturation. Applied through the Leica FOTOS app, the profile can be previewed in the viewfinder rather than reserved for later editing.
The edition is intended for photographers drawn to both mechanical objects and motorsport imagery, rather than anyone seeking a new sensor or lens. Priced at $9,950, the special edition is available through Leica boutiques and authorized retailers.
