Cartier just pulled off a masterclass in stealth luxury with the reissue of its 2025 Tank à Guichets. The legendary jump hour watch, first introduced in 1928, returns in an ultra-sleek form with three standard-production models in rose gold, yellow gold, and platinum—and a fourth, limited-to-200 edition that shakes things up with diagonal apertures. In true Cartier fashion, less is more.

Forget traditional hands—this timepiece tells time through two “guichets” (French for “windows”) that display jumping hours at 12 o’clock and creeping minutes below. The 24.8mm x 37.6mm case is razor-thin at just 6mm, with a hidden crown tucked into the top of the case for a clean, uninterrupted silhouette. Inside beats the hand-wound caliber 9755 MC, a Cartier refinement of Piaget’s ultra-thin 430P, clocking in at a mere 2.1mm thick and offering a 43-hour power reserve.

Each model brings its own flair: the platinum version features red numerals, yellow gold pairs with green, and rose gold opts for a subtle gray. The standout limited edition shifts the windows diagonally, adding a playful twist to the Tank’s historically rigid geometry. While it’s labeled “not water resistant,” that’s hardly the point. This is the horological equivalent of a tailored tux—elegant, sharp, and unapologetically refined.
Whether you’re into rare timepieces or low-key flexes, the Tank à Guichets 2025 proves that Cartier makes a major impact when it goes minimal.
