The Bertone name has famously been associated with automakers like Maserati, Lamborghini, BMW, and Alfa Romeo. However, the iconic Italian coachbuilder recently announced plans to celebrate its rebirth and 110th anniversary with a new hypercar. This limited-edition speed machine is dubbed the Bertone GB110, and highlights surrounding the car include running on synthetic fuels made from plastic waste.

At the moment, details are slim, but digital renderings of the Bertone GB110 show a mid-engine two-seater supercar. According to Bertone, the car’s styling cues take inspiration from the coachbuilder’s extensive catalog of past creations like the Alfa Romeo BAT vehicles from the 1950s or the wedge-edged Stratos Zero.

Bertone also stated that its synthetic fuel running engine develops 1,085 hp and 811 lb.-ft of torque and uses a seven-speed transmission to power an all-wheel drive system. Furthermore, Bertone claims the GB110 can sprint from zero to 60 in under three seconds and accelerate to a top speed of “over” 236 mph.

The car’s dimensions are a few inches shorter than a Lamborghini Huracan. However, Bertone states the GB110 comes equipped with double wishbone suspension, coil springs, and four-way adjustable damping to handle its hyper performance. In addition to rolling on 22-inch wheels wrapped in 335/25 rubber.

As for its mystery engine and fuel, Bertone only stated that the engineering involved is “based on components from a German manufacturer.” No details on how many cylinders the engine has or how much the Bertone GB110 is expected to cost. What we do know is how many Bertone plans to build – 33.
