If we had to pick one thing that has always wowed us about Bang & Olufsen products, it may be how considerate they have all been. We’re not suggesting that these products will open doors for you or preorder your favorite drink at the bar, but rather how each product puts the user first. With past products that included TVs that gently turn to greet you and CD players that open itself with a wave of you hand, they were enough to wow the child inside anyone.
To be available soon, the Danish high end brand introduces their most ambitious loudspeaker to date, the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 90. Like its other extremely considerate products, the BeoLab 90 digital speakers also introduces a new set of technologies that make it one of the most considerate speakers ever.
First off, the Active Room Compensation technology minimizes the impact from the shape of the room, furniture, speaker position, and where the listener is relative to the speakers. This assures best sound quality no matter where you are. On top of that, with the Beam Width Control, you can control the direction of sound to be optimized for yourself or to spread wider when there’s a larger party. These can all be controlled by the B&O remote or a dedicated app. Obviously these technologies don’t have the visual drama of some of B&O’s other products, but the idea of utilizing its technology to keep your listening experience at the forefront is still present.
The outlandish shape of the BeoLab 90 was dictated by the accoustical requirements, and might be the most stunning design from Band & Olufsen to date. Cost and exact date has not been released yet, but we’d imagine that the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 90 is going to come with an appropriately astronomical price tag.
