Making his first appearance in 1971 — styled after jazz-crazed college-aged beatniks — was none other than Mr. Suave himself, Joe Cool. Snoopy, the iconic Peanuts cartoon character, donned a red sweater emblazoned with the words ‘Joe Cool,’ along with a pair of dark sunglasses to complete his alter ego. Bamford London, Revolution, and The Rake collaborated, and the idea to feature this ultra-cool beagle on the face of a watch was born. The result is the Bamford × Revolution GMT Joe Cool.
At 40mm, the Bamford × Revolution GMT Joe Cool timepiece is the perfect size for just about anyone’s wrist. The stainless steel case has been enhanced with a luminous internal rotating bezel. A Sellita SW330-1 automatic movement powers the show inside, providing 42 hours of power reserve. Snoopy’s arms act as the hour and minute hands, while the second hand is accented by the loveable beagle’s recognizable pal Woodstock, the bird. The second time zone can easily be read off of the centrally mounted GMT hand, and if one wants to check the time in another zone, simply turn the crown at 10 o’clock to set the internal rotating bezel. Finally, because no Snoopy characterization would be complete without his iconic dog house, this watch comes delivered in a box-shaped like Joe Cool’s dwelling. What’s more, the box is fully lumed. Yes, you read that right, Bamford has coated the watch, but also the entire box in glowing splendor!
