In Europe, one of the most popular scooters is the Yamaha TMAX, and a new generation has been introduced for 2022. The new 2022 Yamaha TMAX is better equipped with redesigned features and a full-color seven-inch TFT instrument digital screen. Furthermore, the 2022 TMAX offers heated seats, heated handle grips, an electric windscreen, and cruise control. In addition to wearing a sportier design, the Yamaha TMAX has a longer seat and footboards on a slimmer frame for improved ride quality.
The 2022 Yamaha TMAX is a scooter with the face of a sports bike. At the front, the TMAX’s redesigned face offers aerodynamic front wings, aerodynamic boomerang side covers, and sharper LED headlights. According to Yamaha, this new look is meant to take the TMAX scooter “one step closer to the motorcycle world.” In addition, storage space under the seat allows for a full-face helmet and can store a briefcase, backpack, or gym bag.
Powering the 2022 TMAX is the Yamaha 560cc EURO5 engine producing 47-hp to move its lightweight aluminum chassis. The engine sings through a tuned intake and exhaust system to give the scooter a bit more growl. It rides on spin forged wheels, and controls are fixed on aluminum handlebars. In addition, the electrically adjustable windscreen is built with a center air intake duct to reduce pressure allowing for better ride quality. Yamaha claims this air duct also improves the acoustics for the rider. Standard safety features on the 2022 Yamaha TMAX include the Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCC-T), which works like traction control. It also features a locking center stand as a standard anti-theft device and starts up using Smart Key keyless ignition. At this time, pricing has not been announced but the 2022 Yamaha TMAX is expected to arrive in dealers by March 2022.
