Created by Morrison, Tennessee-based Ford dealership Brown Lee Ford, the 2019 Ford Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition recaptures Ford’s illustrious racing past with a custom-painted Gulf blue and orange racing livery that recalls the iconic GT40 that won back-to-back 24 Hours of Le Mans victories in 1968 and 1969. These victories capped previous consecutive GT40 Le Mans wins that date back to 1965.
But the racing prowess of the 2019 Ford Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition is far from just surface level. Starting with a standard 2019 Ford GT, Brown Lee Ford supercharged its 5.0-liter V8 engine with upgraded fuel injectors and a 3.0-liter, stage-2 supercharger to generate 800 hp. The result is a car that can rocket from standstill to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.
Customers can order the 2019 Ford Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition as either a coupe or a convertible with either a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.
