Mere months after announcing the launch of their 9 Baro Titanium timepiece, Finnish brand Suunto has announced the launch of another smartwatch variant, the Suunto 9 Peak. This GPS-enabled smartwatch is hardy and lightweight, an interesting combination. It also features the capacity to measure the wearer’s 02 level and heart rate, with the watch having a powerful enough battery to last 170 hours between charges. The Suunto 9 Peak comes in several color variants, inspired by the outdoors, and features over 80 sports modes along with having sleep monitoring and being water-resistant for up to 100 meters. Its overall design theme is to be the toughest, yet smallest and thinnest smartwatch on the market.
The 9 Peak is designed to fit effortlessly under clothing and to not hang up on backpacks and other gear when in use. The watch is one that is smart enough to take wearers on the adventure of a lifetime while being small and diminutive enough to blend into the background while doing so. The 43mm smartwatch also contains the customary barometric altimeter, but this is not stated in the name of this timepiece because the Suunto brand feels its presence should be a given. They said, “We have decided that all our flagship products will contain the barometric altitude without needing to state that in the name.” This is a reference to their previous product the Suunto 9 Baro. Shipping for the brand’s latest release, the Suunto 9 Peak, is expected to begin on June 17th.
