‘SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME’ Official Teaser Trailer Just Revealed

The long-awaited trailer shows Peter grappling with the fallout of his real identity being revealed to the world.

Marvel Studios has just dropped the official teaser trailer, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and it picks up where Peter Parker’s storyline ended in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Fans will no doubt recall that at the end of the franchise’s second installment, Jake Gyllenhaal’s villainous Mysterio unmasks Peter Parker as Spider-Man and wrongfully accuses him of his murder. At the beginning of the teaser trailer we find that, for the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a SuperHero.

The situation weaves a tangled web for Peter, played by Tom Holland, who is struggling with losing his secret identity while trying to prove his innocence to the world, which dubs him “public enemy #1.” Out of desperation, Peter seeks out the help of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. All too willing to help him, Doctor Strange performs a spell that erases everyone’s mind of Peter’s secret identity. The spell backfires and causes Peter and Doctor Strange to plunge into the multiverse. Alternate multiverse realities begin to crash into one another, bringing back familiar faces from Spider-Man’s past, including Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus. In addition, we can hear Willem Dafoe’s chilling Green Goblin laugh. The trailer ends with Strange’s ominous warning: “Be careful what you wish for, Parker.”  SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME is slated to release in theaters on December 17th.
