Continuing toward their ultimate goal of creating a 100% genuine French-made watch, the Semper & Adhuc Instantanée LIP — a collaboration between Instantanée LIP and the storied Semper & Adhuc — is powered by the 50-year-old LIP R100 hand-wound movement. This movement was produced from 1958 to 1970 and features a power reserve of 36 hours and its overall design was the result of no fewer than 100,000 hours of improvement and 10 years of development. With this collaboration, Semper & Adhuc is getting closer and closer to reaching that elusive genuine French timepiece, since the bracelet, hands, dial, and case are all French-made. The beautiful Instantanee features a 37mm satin-finished, round, steel case. Its overall design calls to mind vintage pieces. It can be flipped over to reveal an eyecup that shows the vintage movements ticking within the watch. It is also double-signed, bearing both LIP and Semper & Adhuc’s signatures. The distinctive timepiece features grey with pink and white accents along with thin hands.
The Semper & Adhuc Instantanée LIP pays homage to the minimalist design popularized in the 1960s, known as the ‘time of just plain ol’ good design’. To finish off the look, the timepiece features a leather strap from Bordeaux. The watch can even be custom engraved on the case back per the buyer’s preference. The Semper & Adhuc Instantanée LIP is extremely limited containing just 20 pieces in the entire collection, adding to its exclusivity.
