The Segway S-Pod is poised to change the way people move around cities, theme parks, malls, airports, and other areas. This self-contained vehicle automatically balances itself with its adaptive and automatic center-of-gravity control system. The Segway S-Pod can be easily adjusted by the passenger with the intuitive assistive navigation panel. Directional changes via spins and rotations are handled smoothly with the ability of the passenger to reach speeds of up to 24 mph.
Using Segway’s proprietary self-balancing technology, this pod also treats you to expansive views while you zoom around in comfort. Users at CES 2020 had the chance to demo the new Segway but only at a maximum speed locked at 7.5 mph for safety reasons. Though there’s no familiar steering wheel or handlebars, an intuitive user-design makes the S-Pod easy to use thanks to a convenient knob built into its panel. With a range of up to 43 miles and the ability to climb 10-degree angles, this people pod might just be the answer to city congestion and pave the way to smarter city living.
