The Yacht-Master II has always occupied a unique space within Rolex’s lineup—a highly specialized tool watch built for regatta timing. For 2026, the brand revisits the model with a focus on usability, refining both its mechanics and its visual clarity.

At the core of the update is a redesigned programmable countdown system. Previously complex to operate, the function is now simplified through a single lower pusher, allowing sailors to set and adjust timing sequences more intuitively. The countdown hands have also been reworked to rotate counterclockwise, making the remaining time easier to interpret at a glance.

The movement powering these changes, calibre 4162, introduces new technical solutions that support the revised functionality. While the underlying concept remains the same—a mechanical memory that can synchronize on the fly—the execution feels more aligned with real-world use.

Visually, the watch adopts a cleaner dial layout with larger hour markers, improving legibility under demanding conditions. The blue Cerachrom bezel and white lacquer dial reinforce the nautical identity, while subtle design cues, such as pusher geometry inspired by winches, connect the watch to its maritime context.
Rather than altering the Yacht-Master II’s purpose, Rolex refines how it performs that role. The result is a more intuitive instrument—one that better serves the precise timing demands of competitive sailing.
