Ricoh Imaging Company announced the April release of its new Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition. The package features Ricoh’s GR IIIx digital compact camera in a metallic gray finish, with a navy-blue ring around the lens’s barrel. The GR IIIx Urban Edition comes with exclusive accessories, including a metallic hot shoe cover and leather hand strap with a navy-blue stripe that matches the lens barrel ring.
The GR IIIx Urban Edition metallic gray camera body boasts a multi-coat process, creating a smooth texture and making it easier to grip the camera. Users can enable the AF mode shutter-release without locking the AE system by pressing the button halfway down. Additionally, the company says the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition debuts new functions that will be available with firmware updates for standard GR IIIx models, such as the snap distance priority mode, auto-area center focus mode, and snapshot mode.
When the camera is off, it displays an original shut-down screen with the product logo and an image symbolizing the GR IIIx Urban Edition package’s urban-oriented concept. There is a limited quantity starting in April 2022 of 2,000 units worldwide, available at a suggested retail price of $1,100. A summer launch will only offer the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition camera body.
