With so many superhero movies taking front stage in Hollywood these days, it’s hard to imagine a truly original story that could come out of the comic book genre. However, it looks like Raising Dion has done exactly that with a “mother” of all origin stories that not only puts a new perspective on the genre itself but also shows how storytelling can evolve within the genre.

Made as a trailer to promote a new comic book series by Dennis Liu, the trailer for Raising Dion puts the spotlight on the mom of a to-be-superhero. When we consider how mothers are the real super heroes of our world, it is an inspiring look that should not only be a fun read but also a heartwarming one as well.
