Cult toy manufacturer, Medicom Toy has collaborated with the LA-based automotive lifestyle brand, Period Correct to unveil the Period Correct x Be@rbrick Set. Featuring the Period Correct classic livery, the bears are outfitted with racing suits in jade green, navy blue, and white. The set includes both 100 (2.7-inches high) – and 400 percent (11-inches high) bears made of PVC. Considered highly collectible, the first Be@rbrick was originally a swag in a goodie bag given out to World Character Convention attendees in Tokyo, Japan in May of 2001. The original white bear featured a Be@rbrick logo in a blue bear shape with a red “@”. Measuring 2.7-inches, this marked the standard 100% size of Be@rbricks.
The core of Be@rbrick is an art form celebrating pop culture. It is meant to be a source of joy and inspiration for collectors. The Be@rbrick figure is based on a standard bear-shaped form consisting of nine parts with five joints and it typically comes in three different sizes: 100% (2.7-inches), 400% (11-inches), and 1000% (27.5-inches). 50% (1.3-inches) is also available, which usually takes the form of keychains.
