Michel Parmigiani exerts his influence to reimagine an award-winning case, giving it new life in the Parmigiani Tonda GT. The versatile style of this wristwatch exudes a modern elegance that makes it impressive yet appropriate for any occasion. Its inspiration was taken from the Tonda Chronor, which won the Chronograph Watch Prize from the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2017. Parmigiani’s flair for design keeps the essential elements of that case intact while adding a fluted bezel and clou triangulaire guilloché that have become his calling card.
The Tonga GT sets the standard with a 42mm case made from polished and satin 18 karat rose gold. The same rose gold is applied to the dial’s indexes to give contrast to the blue dial that backs them. The calibre PF044 automatic movement imbues a power reserve of 45 hours to options between a model with a blue rubber or rose gold bracelet. Parmiana’s vision also graces four steel case versions of the Tonda GT standard and chronograph versions that are a bit more toned down than the gold-clad namesakes of the timepiece but are still every bit as alluring and intricate.
