It was inevitable that Pagani would introduce a droptop version of their Huayra hypercar, as they have done with its predecessor, the Zonda. Knowing how beautiful the droptop version of the Zonda was, we knew that the open top Huayra will be a stunning vehicle as well. Pagani finally unveils the eagerly awaited Pagani Huayra Roadster in all its open top glory.
Pagani was quick to point out that the new Huayra Roadster isn’t just a Huayra with its top chopped off. It has gone through a strict diet, losing 6% (80kg) of its overall weight, while also increasing its torsional flexional rigidity thanks to the use of new composite materials. The engine has also been massaged to produce 754 hp and 738 ft-lbs of torque from its AMG sourced 6.0-liter V12 M158 unit. Designed specifically for the Roadster, the new suspension uses HiForg, a new lightweight aluminum alloy that reduces weight by 25% over the hardtop version. The Roadster comes with two tops — a light carbon hardtop that retains the silhouette of the coupe, and a fabric and carbon cover that can be easily stored in the car when not in use.
Limited to only 100 examples at an eye-watering $2,410,000, the Pagani Huayra Roadster will make its official debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
