During the in-house tasting process, sometimes whisky tasters and makers discover a particularly compelling cask. These unique tasks have a tone, flavor, and rich smoothness that make them truly exceptional. Such casks are carefully marked and reserved as Exceptional Single Cask selections, and from them Macallan Exceptional Single Cask whisky is bottled and made available in limited quantities.

Macallan’s tradition of small-batch whisky distillery, harmony with the environment (surrounding their 390-acre Highland estate), and incomparable care for each unique oak cask result in a product that’s truly for the moments deserving the best. Each bottle is labeled as limited availability with its cask type, distilled and filled date, bottling date, and the name of the whisky maker who selected it.
