LEGO Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

The newest addition to LEGO's architectural model series, the LEGO Guggenheim Museum recreates the iconic museum with accurate detail.

Anyone who has been to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City knows that the beauty of the building’s spiraling galleries often rivals or exceeds that of the art on the walls. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Guggenheim is a marvel of modern architecture that has been lauded for decades by both experts in the field and the public at large. The museum’s clean lines and stark geometric simplicity make it an ideal subject for its latest heartfelt tribute: a LEGO set!

The newest addition to LEGO’s architectural model series, the LEGO Guggenheim consists of 744 pieces that hobbyists can combine to recreate the iconic museum’s circular rotunda, the 10-story tower that sits behind it, and even the distinctive lettering that graces the building’s facade. The completed model also features the section of Fifth Avenue that stands in front of the Guggenheim, complete with authentic corner crosswalks and two New York City taxis in classic yellow.

The June 8, 2017 release of the LEGO Guggenheim Museum was designed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth. Over its brief time on the market, it has already caused quite a stir among collectors. Guggenheim LEGO sets are currently selling for more than $100 on Ebay.
