Dan Brunn’s Bridge House LA Makeover With A Porsche Palette

This architectural gem in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, has always been a place to celebrate art and design.

Dan Brunn, architect and avid car collector, has transformed his Hancock Park home and studio in Los Angeles, known as Bridge House LA, into a vibrant homage to his love for classic automobiles. This ever-evolving architectural gem has become a gallery-like space celebrating natural materials, the surrounding landscape, and Brunn’s passion for collecting cars.

The latest evolution of Bridge House is a result of an exciting collaboration between Porsche and paint brand Backdrop, commemorating Porsche’s 75th anniversary. Brunn seized the opportunity to infuse the architectural form of his home with the essence of these iconic Porsche colors.

The Bridge House motor court, paved with small pebbles that create a unique sensory experience when driven over, has become a testament to Brunn’s love for cars and his innovative approach to design. As he puts it, “It’s the first time we have been able to play with architecture, landscape, and automotive design all in one place.”

The four Porsche x Backdrop colors—Irish Green, Speed Yellow, Ruby Star, and Riviera Blue—now grace the interior of the house, adding vibrant energy to its serene aesthetic. These colors make appearances in unexpected places, such as statement walls and hidden bars, creating a delightful contrast.

Throughout Bridge House, the play between interior and exterior spaces is evident, with large windows inviting nature in and numerous outdoor living areas seamlessly integrating with the landscape. As Brunn aptly puts it, “The idea with the design was to un-design in a way, to find nature and be one with nature.”

Bridge House LA continues to evolve, mirroring the changing landscape and Brunn’s evolving creative vision. This latest transformation adds an exciting dimension of color to a space previously defined by its clean, white simplicity. It’s a fitting tribute to Porsche’s timeless legacy and Dan Brunn’s unwavering passion for design and automobiles.
