The new blend, sourced from Great Northern Distilling in Ireland, features 4-year-old Irish Pot Still and Irish Grain whiskeys and rye whiskey from Seagram’s MGP distillery in Indiana. Master Distiller Brian Nation expertly blends the two into the new Keeper’s Heart Whiskey Irish + American Blend. Keepers blend combines the smoothness of Irish Pot Still and Grain whiskeys with Seagram Rye’s bold and flavorful palate. The result is bright and floral, with the warm aroma of baking spices. Keeper’s Heart Whiskey boasts a palate of lemon zest, sweet biscuits, stewed fruit, candied ginger, vanilla, and a lingering charred oak finish with a spiced caramel sweetness.
Cousins and lifelong friends Patrick and Michael O’Shaughnessy say they wanted to make whiskey worthy of their rich Irish-American heritage and reimagine whiskey traditions that bring people together. So, they opened The O’Shaughnessy Distillery in their hometown of Minneapolis, with the motto fugit hora – the hour flies. The cousins say they designed their distillery to make world-class American whiskeys in the quintessential Irish style using three classic copper pot stills.
