Last month, JMGO launched the 01 Pro, a full HD ultra-short-throw projector on Indiegogo. The device includes optics co-developed with imaging leader Leica and audio from Danish loudspeaker veteran Dynaudio. Now the company is readying a 4K tri-color Laser projector for launch, the JMGO U2. As the name suggests, a tri-color laser outputs simultaneous RGB light sources, with the U2 capable of supporting 114 percent of the BT.2020 color standard for the promise of rich, vivid color reproduction.
Featuring a 4K Ricoh Prime Lens, the JMGO U2 provides an excellent contrast ratio, impressive brightness, and accurate color, all with remarkable detail. With MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) Technology included, the U2 delivers smooth content and transitions. Fast-moving images are clear which is ideal for watching action, sports, and 3D movies. Brightness is one of the most important factors that separates typical projectors from the JMGO U2. With a 2400-lumen light source, JMGO U2 boasts a peak brightness of 3600 ANSI lumens using a Fresnel screen with a gain of 1.5; the image will therefore be visible and sharp even in a well-lit room. JMGO has again partnered with Dynaudio for the integrated sound system, which is made up of two 15-W and two 10-W speakers and a large sound cavity, for “rich, immersive, true-to-life sound” that is certified for both Dolby Audio and DTS HD. JMGO’s U2 is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, with an anticipated delivery date of October 2021.
