The Bourne series revolutionized the action film genre, with ultra realistic action sequences that set the standard for other films that followed, even forcing super spy James Bond to rethink his next outing. Universal’s attempt to reboot the franchise without the title character didn’t go as planned, as it felt like making an ice cream sundae without the ice cream.

With director Paul Greengrass of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum at the helm once again, joined by Matt Damon reprising his most iconic role as Jason Bourne, Jason Bourne is the fifth installment of the franchise and should bring back the magic of what made the original trilogy so good. Judging from the action-packed official trailer, the film shouldn’t disappoint, giving us a glimpse into an older and grittier Jason Bourne.
