IKEA’s MÄVINN collection is back with its second edition, bringing handcrafted style to your home while supporting artisans from Southeast Asia. This unique collection is a collaboration between IKEA and social enterprises in Bangladesh, India, and Jordan, focusing on empowering women and marginalized communities through meaningful work. Each of the seventeen products in the MÄVINN line tells a story of heritage and craftsmanship, woven, braided, and embroidered by hand.
IKEA’s MÄVINN collection features an array of vibrant, functional pieces, including baskets, bags, rugs, cushion covers, and more, all made from sustainable materials like cotton and jute. The collection’s designs are inspired by the traditional craft markets, bringing a touch of authenticity and artistry to every item. From the handmade tassels on throws to the embroidered details on bathrobes, no two pieces are exactly alike, adding a personal touch to your space.
Launched initially in 2023, the MÄVINN collection quickly became a favorite, and this year’s edition is set to make an even greater impact. By working with social enterprises, IKEA not only delivers beautiful, handcrafted products but also helps artisans grow their skills and achieve financial independence. The first half of the new MÄVINN collection is available online and in stores on September 4, with the second half following in December, offering a chance to own pieces that make a difference.
